This came out of the "Gourmet Cooking With Old Crow" cookbook (Paperback 1970)
My paternal Grandmother gave it to my parents 1/2 as a joke & 1/2 because she & my Mom collected odd cookbooks.

Bourbon Balls -- I
4oz. OLD CROW (you may need more if you &/or the ingredients are too dry.)
1 cup confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
3 cups finely crushed to crumbs vanilla wafers (measurement is after crushing.)
1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts (measurement is after chopping.)
3 tablespoons corn syrup (may need slightly more if ingredient are too dry.)
confectioners sugar for coating
After pouring a decent sized drink (with a straw) for yourself.
Combine cup of sugar, corn syrup, OLD CROW, crumbs, & nuts in mixing bowl
Mix (by hand) thoroughly
Form into 1 - inch balls and roll in extra sugar.
Store in container with tight fitting cover in the refrigerator.
NOTES:
These are very messy to make & you will end up with a 1/4 of an inch layer of mix on your hands.
When done take a table knife & scrape as much as you can off your hands with the dull back of the knife, eat the scrapings then lick your fingers & hands. (We've tried but can't seem to make them wearing food prep plastic gloves.) Then scrub your hands with dish soap & a green scrubbie.
These are a very popular item at our parties and people always ask where on the buffet they are.
(We add a larger amount of Bourbon than the recipe states.) XD
